Day 34 Sights and sounds of Domme in Dordogne France

Day 34 Sights and sounds of Domme in Dordogne region.

Today was another relaxation day.  We had a relaxed start meeting at 9 am for breakfast which consisted of citrous crepes downtown.  Delicious.

Oh joy! today was market day in Domme so the ladies spent all morning perusing the stalls in search of that elusive bargain.  The merchandise was actually quite good quality in fact a good deal was locally made handcrafts - bags, jewelery, paintings pottery etc.  Noeline was excited to find a table cloth that actually fitted her extension table and snapped that up quickly.  We also collectively bought the best tasting tapas and olives which we planned to eat for lunch with a baguette. While it was a little pricey at 29 euros per kilo it was really good.

Maritta didn’t buy much “STUFF” as Dale fond of saying but she couldn't over look a small number of good buys.  Both Ruth and Noeline had several good pickups as well.  The boys on the other hand were quite bored and definitely let us know about it!  They mooched about moaning and the frequent rolling of the eyes was noted...tough! we ladies were enjoying ourselves

It had rained very heavily overnight and the MG had acquired its own private little swimming pool in the foot wells so Dale spent part of the morning “squeegying” it out and them “chamying” all three cars to fill in the morning and avoid the market tour.

The new swimming pool feature for the MG!
After our lunch of olives, tapas and baguettes and a glass of wine we decided that in afternoon we would take in the underground caves located under the village and the local museum.  We also took a look around the village which is full of beautiful period homes, back streets and lane ways.  The village church is also fascinating.
