Day 16: Around Andover.
Today we went out sightseeing around this delightful part of southern England –
the Teste Valley with a "stop to shop" break in Stockbridge. This area has a lot of chalk bottomed streams
which means that the water is crystal clear. A number of shallow streams run
through the villages and you could see the fish swimming in them and some very
healthy ducks.
Maritta found another “Hare”
here to add to her collection of stuffed animals going with the “Rabbit” she
bought in Lymington last time we were in the UK.
Arrived back at Sue and Richards in the Early afternoon and not long
after Peter and Janet. Arriving soon after
where Alan and Noeline in the Phil and Jan's 12/50.
Richard had cooked a huge whole Salmon for dinner which together with
Bakewell tart and several other side dishes followed by Summer Pie, an huge excellent
feast was enjoyed by all and set our adventure off to the very best start as we
got to know our fellow travellers.
Three of 4 12/50 Alvis's lined up in Andover |
Not long after this we all left for the approximately 90 mile drive to
Portsmouth to catch the Ferry to Bilbao. Once on board we also met Alison and John, the
last members of our Alvising party.
