Day 41 Travel to Roscoff and the ferry to Plymouth

Day 41 Travel to Roscoff and the Ferry to Plymouth

Today we had a particularly quiet start to the day with everyone packing and catching up on emails and the the blog - but did have some difficulty getting on the internet.

Noeline catching up on emails.
Now packed we said goodbye to Mike and Ruth and headed of towards Roscoff for the Ferry (Brittany) to Plymouth.  This was a short trip but we wanted to make sure we got there - without Ruth's help.

We started out by getting confused and taking a wrong turn about 5 miles from the chateau but eventually found our way and stopped at a larger town for a late lunch - it was quite busy however we didn't relax that much as 2 people quite disheveled and clearly off with the fairies hovered around the carpark.  Fortunately nothing happened.  As is typical for us as ... the road we needed to use was closed for the day due to a fair and steam rally.  This complicated matters considerably - from a navigation point of view!

We found our way to Rostock and wandered around the shops and harbor for a while until it was close to time to bard the Ferry.

The harbour is tidal and when the tide is out the boats sit on the ground!

Carpark in Roscoff - 12/50 tends to draw a crowd.
Waiting in the queue to board the ferry it started to drizzle - typical and both Alan and Dale made it clear that the hoods were not going up!! So we had to resort to umbrellas - much to the amusement of the surrounding cars.

The ferry was not full and both Alan and Noeline and Dale and I were assigned disabled rooms which was fantastic - spacious and an automatic opening and closing door - and a bathroom you could have a party in with the lift just outside the door.  I knew we look poorly - but not that bad!
